ABA Names Theresa Wardon to National Top 40 On the Rise

Date: 07.19.17

Denver: The American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division has selected WTO partner Theresa Wardon to its 2017 On the Rise list. The list honors 40 lawyers nationwide age 36 or younger for their exceptional work in the legal industry.

The ABA states, these young attorneys “exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and legal and community service.”  In its recognition, the ABA points to Wardon’s successful representations of Michelin in high-stakes trials, Ford in trials and appeals, and her role as a member of the team that helped Whirlpool win a $66 million certified class action trial in federal court in 2014.

WTO Chairman Michael O’Donnell works closely with Wardon on several client teams. “Theresa’s knowledge and poise belie her age. She is not merely an exceptional young lawyer; she is an exceptional lawyer, period. This is well-deserved recognition for Theresa.”

Wardon’s partner and mentor, Ed Stewart, has worked closely with her since her earliest days at the firm. “Once you’ve spent a few minutes with Theresa, it is easy to understand why clients request her by name. Her depths of engagement and character put you at ease from the moment she starts listening.”

In addition to her work for major manufacturers, the award points to Wardon’s pro bono representation of asylum seekers fleeing violence in their home countries. She also is a long-time board member of The Gathering Place, Denver’s only daytime shelter for women, children, and transgender people.
