Denver Kids, Inc. - YPC for a Professional Development event: Grow Your Fundraising Confidence

A big part of our commitment to Denver Kids as YPC and/or Board members is to the financial health of the organization through fundraising and awareness efforts. All fundraising events involve a great deal of requesting sponsorship, in-kind donations, support, donations, etc. Although we all have varying levels of comfort with fundraising, we can always build our fundraising skills and confidence. This time of year is particularly important to get out there as companies begin completing FY'16 budgets and planning for FY'17. During this event, speaker Aaron Cohen will lead us through training and interactive exercises that will allow us to walk away with a better grasp on our own personalized approach to talking about why we support Denver Kids, tools to inspire others to lend their support, and best practices for securing those commitments. Ample coaching and practice will be provided so everyone leaves feeling more confident in their fundraising abilities, no matter where they started. 

About the Speaker: Aaron Cohen is a nationally recognized fundraiser, political strategist, civil rights advocate, and community leader. Cohen’s experience includes over 45 political campaigns and an additional 25 non-profit organizations where he and his companies have raised over $50M. These efforts include fundraising consulting and management for political campaigns, ballot initiatives, independent expenditure committees, super PACs and non-profit organizations in the U.S., Mexico, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. As a small business owner and founder of a non-profit advocacy organization, Cohen has received national accolades for his efforts including: 2016 40 Under 40 Award Winner by the American Association of Political Consultants; the only fundraising firm in the U.S. named to the Aristotle Campaign Dream Team in 2010 and 2011; 2011 CoBiz Magazine top 25 Young Professionals in the state of Colorado; executive profile in International Top 100 Magazine; and featured guest on CNN en Espanol Radio and Voto Latino Pop-up Dallas.
