Julian Ellis represents sophisticated clients in complex commercial litigation at the trial and appellate levels. Prior to joining WTO, Julian served as a law clerk to The Honorable Timothy M. Tymkovich, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and was a litigation associate at a full-service law firm in Denver.
In his first year in practice, Julian assisted with preparing two multimillion-dollar cases for trial. He also served as lead appellate counsel in a pro bono matter and obtained a complete reversal from the Colorado Court of Appeals on an issue of first impression.
Before pursuing a degree in law, Julian worked for five years in the financial services industry. He worked for both private businesses and large financial institutions, primarily concentrating on publicly traded entities. Julian’s background gives him a unique business perspective and guides how he advises corporate clients in litigation.
In addition to practice, Julian is active in the international commercial arbitration moot community. He assists with coaching the University of Denver’s international commercial arbitration team, which competes in Singapore, Hong Kong, Brussels, Budapest, Paris, and Vienna. Julian also actively writes on the intersection of arbitration and insolvency laws.
