Law Week Colorado Names WTO Partner Miko Brown a Top Woman Lawyer in 2014
DENVER: Law Week Colorado has named WTO partner Miko Brown a Top Woman Lawyer of 2014. In its profile, the publication cites Miko's outstanding achievements in 2013-2014. Highlights include a hard-fought trial win in an asbestos wrongful death lawsuit in Philadelphia; three consecutive constitutional rights victories in Colorado; and her stewardship of the firm's innovative new women's leadership and mentorship program, the Women In Leadership Lecture Series (WILLS).
Miko has represented clients in 24 states and has tried cases to verdict in Colorado, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, and Texas. In many more cases, she has saved her clients significant time, expense, and exposure by resolving cases through dispositive motions. Miko frequently obtains summary judgment or voluntary dismissal thanks to exemplary discovery and motions practices. She represents clients in high-stakes cases ranging from personal injury and premises liability to complex commercial litigation and class actions, including follow-on litigation stemming from the largest class action in U.S. history.
In addition to this honor, Colorado Rising Stars has recognized Miko for Civil Litigation Defense for each of the last five years. She is a board member for the Center for Legal Inclusiveness, treasurer for the Asian Pacific Bar Association, and she serves on the board of advisors of the Women's College of the University of Denver Law and Society Program.
