Twice as Hot: WTO Named to National Law Journal's Midsize Hot List for Second Year in a Row

Date: 05.23.16

Denver: For the second consecutive year, The National Law Journal has named Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell (WTO) to its elite Midsize Hot List. Each year, the NLJ highlights 20 firms in the U.S. that set the bar for legal services among firms with 51 to 150 lawyers.

“These firms embody lawyering at its essence—working hard to understand and serve their clients’ needs,” wrote the NLJ in its 2016 edition.

WTO is recognized for several high-profile victories, including an 11th-hour, emergency federal injunction protecting the name and image rights of Aretha Franklin; a complete jury defense verdict in Arizona for Michelin North America in a $20 million product liability trial; and a complete defense verdict for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, marking a major victory in a highly contentious, five-year lawsuit culminating in a month-long trial in California with $50 million at stake.

“Whether it's obtaining a TRO on a day's notice, or defending a class or mass action over a decade and seeing it through trial and resolution, our teams do what it takes to deliver uncompromising service and outstanding results for our clients," said managing partner Carolyn Fairless. "It is an honor to appear on this list."

The firm was also profiled in 2015.
