WTO Partner John M. Vaught sworn in as the 2014-2015 President of the Denver Bar Association
On June 26, 2014, WTO partner John M. Vaught was sworn in as the 2014-2015 president of the Denver Bar Association. A DBA member for over 30 years, John has served in numerous roles and on various committees including the board of governors, liaison and budget committee, standing committee for CBA mentoring, task force on multidisciplinary practice, reporting liaison for the Chief Justice's commission on civil justice, founder and former chairman of the CBA securities litigation subsection, and was nominated for CBA's "Young Lawyers of the Year" in1984.
In the same swearing in ceremony, John accepted the CBA's Outstanding Program award on behalf of the Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans (CLCV) program that he co-founded in 2011. CLCV provides pro bono legal service to Colorado veterans, active duty service members, and their families. For the last three years, the program has offered free legal advice through clinics held around the state and through no-cost or low-fee legal services to individuals who require further help.
John's national litigation practice emphasizes complex commercial defense at the trial and appellate levels. The Best Lawyers in America recognizes him for his work in insurance coverage and bad faith disputes, and Benchmark Litigation named John a 2014 Appellate Star in Colorado. His broad experience includes corporate governance, trade secrets, antitrust matters, and class actions.
