Harold “Hal” Baker helps clients navigate a range of complex litigation matters, particularly class actions, product liability, and securities and investigations. Hal has assisted on four trial teams.
Hal has also taken and defended depositions, managed discovery teams, and drafted complex trial and appellate briefs. Prior to joining WTO, Hal worked in the Columbus office of an international law firm and as a clerk in the Southern District of Ohio.
- Represented a tobacco company in three Engle-progeny cases to verdict. Had primary responsibility for drafting cross-examination outlines, legal research, bench memoranda and trial motions, and running the trial site when not at court.
- Helped win a bench trial for a major lottery provider in a public procurement action. Assisted with trial prep, ongoing trial strategy, and trial-site operations.
- Helped win motion to dismiss for a major auto manufacturer in a RICO class action alleging the client fabricated a safety recall.
