Legal Secretary

Responsibilities include:

Supporting attorneys and paralegals as assigned, electronic filings, calendaring/docketing and familiarity with federal and state court rules/procedures, billing, time entry, and more.


Must have minimum of four years of experience as a Secretary; Experience with time entry, electronic filings, strong communication & analytical Skills; excellent written skills; high attention to detail, and ability to multitask and switch between tasks easily. Competence with Microsoft Office suite of products is essential.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Independent case management including document organization, discovery and database management, trial preparation, calendaring/docketing and familiarity with federal and state court rules/procedures.


  • 4 year degree,  and a paralegal certificate is preferred
  • Must have minimum of seven years of experience managing all phases of complex litigation including going to trial
  • Strong Communication & Analytical Skills
  • Excellent Written Skills; High Attention to Detail, and Ability to multitask and switch between tasks easily.  
  • Competence with Microsoft Office suite of products is essential.  Prior experience with databases’ like Summation, Eclipse, or Relativity preferred

Business Development Writer

The Business Development Writer is the firm’s lead marketing writer and storyteller. The Writer works directly with WTO’s lawyers to identify, hone, and deliver key marketing and business development messages. The Writer supports the Director of Client Development and works closely with the Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead firm efforts to reach clients and prospects in written materials, including responses to Requests for Proposals / Requests for Information (RFPs/RFIs), custom proposals, pitch packets, brochures, announcements, and other products.
  • Research clients, prospective clients, counsel, and competitor firms; identify most-valuable information; and concisely summarize findings.
  • Draft for the firm website, including attorney biographies, practice descriptions, case experience, and press releases.
  • Research and draft award nominations and rankings directories submissions.
  • Draft and distribute the firm’s weekly internal BD newsletter.
  • Lead advertising development, placement, and tracking.
  • Collaborate on copy for email marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate as needed to develop and distribute press releases and social media.

You hear demand for a product or service, develop what has been requested, and then think “How can I make this even better?” You serve multiple masters gracefully under pressure, communicate clearly and proactively to manage expectations, and meet overlapping or simultaneous deadlines through careful planning, diligence, and adaptability—and knowing when to ask for help. You work equally well in close collaboration with others and independently.


  • Excellent writing skills are required.
  • Experience handling RFP/RFI responses and other pitch opportunities is required.
  • 5+ years of content development experience, specifically in areas of business development, marketing, and/or communications, is required.
  • Experience in law or professional services marketing is highly prioritized.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
