The American Lawyer Diversity Scorecard: WTO Ranked in Top 40 for Women in Law
The 2024 American Lawyer Diversity Scorecard report ranked Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell (WTO) at No. 38 among law firms of all sizes nationwide on its Women in Law list.
The rankings are based on percentages of women attorneys overall and in partnership and leadership ranks. Firms supplied the data to the publication through surveys including the NLJ 500.
“At WTO, recruiting and advancing women is important. We live out this commitment every day and are immensely proud that our efforts set us apart at the national level,” WTO Diversity & Inclusion Co-Chair Jessica Scott said. “Personally, as a mother of two young children, I see this work as one way we can help lead the way for future generations.”
The American Lawyer recognized nearly 250 firms on the list and highlighted the following WTO statistics based on firm data for 2023:
- 48.3% of attorneys are women
- 27.50% of equity partners are women
WTO also was one of about 220 firms the publication ranked on its LGBTQ+ Scorecard—another area recognized in this year’s Diversity Scorecard report.
The American Lawyer wrote that all rankings in the report evaluate firms “based on their ability to attract, retain and promote talent from demographics that are historically underrepresented in the legal industry.”
