Joel Neckers
 

Joel Neckers has defended clients in high-stakes and high-profile litigation across the United States. His experience includes representing highly visible clients in numerous class actions, including the successful trial defense of the certified class action, Glazer v. Whirlpool, before an Ohio jury in 2014. Joel also represents clients in complex civil litigation including business and shareholder disputes, internal investigations and compliance matters, and medical malpractice and tort cases.

Joel Neckers focuses his legal practice on complex civil litigation including the defense of consumer class actions, business and shareholder disputes, medical malpractice and tort cases, and corporate internal investigations and compliance matters.

  • Obtained summary judgment for a commercial lender resulting in an award of more than $2.5 million, including interest and legal fees, relating to an LLC's default on a condominium development loan.
  • Acted as the lead attorney on various commercial and tort disputes, including breach of contract actions, breach of fiduciary duty actions, and fraud actions.
  • Won multiple temporary restraining orders and motions for preliminary injunctions after evidentiary hearings in cases involving breach of fiduciary duties and breach of contract.
  • Served as second-chair in several arbitrations for one of the world's largest automobile manufacturers following the passage of Section 747 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2010.
  • Won an arbitration, including an award of attorneys' fees, for a closely-held energy company based in Colorado in a case involving interpretation of a shareholder agreement and corporate governance issues.
