Biography

Jacqueline Martinez has experience in areas including professional liability and commercial litigation. Before joining WTO, Jacqueline was a term law clerk for the Honorable Kenneth J. Gonzales of the U.S. District Court of the District of New Mexico and a summer law extern for the Honorable Joel M. Carson III of the U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also gained experience at two law firms as a summer associate and summer law clerk. Her experience includes drafting motions for judgment on the pleadings, opinions, and jury instructions.

With a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Jacqueline brings a unique perspective. She approaches legal matters like a math equation. Her meticulous attention to detail and problem solving helps her advocate for clients. Additionally, Jacqueline has held multiple teaching positions.

Cases

  • Lead associate defending a consumer product manufacturer against class action claims alleging the inadequacy of a product safety recall remedy and seeking full refund damages. We resolved the case on a non-class basis for nuisance value.
  • Lead associate in a favorably resolved personal injury case in New Mexico. After taking over from previous defense counsel to prepare the case for trial, we settled on the eve of trial for less than one-fourth the amount plaintiff's counsel had said during mediation with previous counsel would be the minimum they would accept.
