When shareholders sued Laser Tech for fraudulent manipulation of sales and revenue figures, they also targeted the company's auditor, BDO Seidman, claiming failure to conduct a thorough audit. Hugh Gottschalk demonstrated that the audit process could not have uncovered the manipulation, and convinced the plaintiffs to drop their charges against BDO Seidman.
