Law Week Colorado Names Fred Yarger a "Top Litigator"

In recognizing attorneys who had “the biggest wins and saves in the courtroom during the past year,” Law Week Colorado named WTO Partner Fred Yarger a 2025 “Top Litigator.”

The publication highlighted that as lead appellate counsel before the Colorado Supreme Court, Fred led the Denver International Airport to victory in a decades-long series of contract disputes. The disputes grew out of alleged breaches of airport noise commitments set forth in contracts with surrounding counties.

“The key in those situations is to have a great working relationship with the existing legal team,” Fred told Law Week. “For this case, we collaborated closely with our co-counsel at Kaplan Kirsch and the legal team from the City of Denver, who had been living the case for years. Beyond that, it’s all about meticulously reading every scrap of paper available to gain a deep understanding of the issues and present the most compelling arguments possible.”

The article also quoted WTO President Katie Reilly about Fred.

His “excellence in the courtroom comes from a sense of ease in handling complex, challenging and high-profile cases,” she said. “He’s the embodiment of ‘been there, done that.’”
