Law360 Publishes LaMar Jost Article on Nuclear Verdicts

WTO Partner LaMar Jost wrote an article for Law360 titled, “Strategies to Defend Against Healthcare Nuclear Verdicts.” 

His article began by saying that the healthcare industry had become a top target for plaintiffs increasingly seeking so-called nuclear verdicts. He then went in-depth on strategies healthcare professionals can employ to defend against nuclear verdicts.

LaMar concluded by emphasizing that medical malpractice and other healthcare industry nuclear verdicts are not going away.

“The time is now to adopt effective claim adjustment and trial techniques that better level the playing field,” he wrote. “Failure to push back against inflated, sensationalized and sometimes flat-out deceptive mega claims will lead to a healthcare industry that is less focused on patient outcomes and more focused on litigation avoidance.”
