Vault Ranks WTO One of the "Best Midsize Law Firms to Work For"

Date: 07.10.24

Vault—a leading rankings and review directory—ranked Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell (WTO) at No. 19 on its 2025 list of the “Best Midsize Law Firms to Work For” in the U.S.

In recognizing WTO, Vault emphasized the firm's commitment to its associates, stating, “Associates feel valued and enjoy being able to tackle substantive work from the start in the firm’s collegial, social environment.”

Vault rankings are based entirely on associate surveys conducted between January and March each year. In the anonymous surveys, associates rate and comment on their work life and job satisfaction. The 2025 rankings highlight workplace features universally important to associates, regardless of office location or practice area. Within the national midsize rankings (firms with up to approximately 150 lawyers), WTO earned Top 20 honors in eight areas, including:

  • #6 Formal Training
  • #8 Technology & Innovation
  • #11 Pro Bono
  • #12 Informal Training, Mentoring & Sponsorship
  • #13 Career Outlook
  • #14 Compensation

“At WTO, we strive to provide an experience for our associates that stands out from the competition, and it’s gratifying to know we excel in so many areas,” WTO Partner & Recruiting Chair Anthony Barbe said. “We are particularly proud of our improvements year-over-year. For 2025, WTO saw double-digit improvements in 12 of Vault’s 15 ranking categories.”

WTO has appeared on the "Best Midsize Law Firms to Work For" list on multiple occasions, including two years in the Top 10 in 2016 and 2018, and at No. 11 in 2021.

To compile its rankings, Vault surveyed more than 20,000 associates at 180+ law firms nationwide.

Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell lawyers have taken more than 1,100 trials and arbitrations to verdict or award and 300 appeals to opinion all across the nation, with exceptional results for our clients.
Established in 1998, WTO today numbers more than 110 trial lawyers and litigators. The firm represents sophisticated clients in high-stakes civil trials, appeals, and related litigation ranging from complex commercial to class actions to catastrophic torts.
