WTO wins defense verdict in Illinois professional malpractice liability case

On October 4, 2011, a Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell trial team led by WTO partner Hugh Gottschalk won a bench verdict for its client in state district court in Cook County, Illinois. The case involved the defense of a professional malpractice claim of over $5 million in connection with financial planning and investment advice provided to the plaintiff by WTO's client. The case has been winding its way through Illinois trial and appellate courts since it was first filed in 2002.
