WTO's Carolyn Fairless Elected to American College of Trial Lawyers Board of Regents
Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell President Carolyn Fairless has been elected to the 15-member Board of Regents of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). She is only the third Regent from Colorado in the 75-year history of the College.
Widely considered to be the premier professional trial organization in North America, the ACTL is composed of the finest U.S. and Canadian trial lawyers who are dedicated to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice. Carolyn previously was an ACTL Fellow—fellowship is by invitation only and is limited to the top one percent of lawyers in a state or province.
As Regent for the states in the Tenth Circuit, Carolyn will help guide the College. The Fellows elect Regents for four-year terms.
Carolyn represents sophisticated clients in complex commercial litigation and professional liability defense and has taken more than 25 trials or arbitration hearings to verdict or judgment. She is one of eight lawyers in the country with a Chambers USA Band 1 ranking in the Nationwide – Law Firm Defense category. Chambers also ranks her in Band 1 for General Commercial Litigation in Colorado.
WTO Firm Chair Michael O’Donnell is one of the two Colorado lawyers who served as ACTL Regent prior to Carolyn. He is the former President of ACTL and currently is a Fellow. Mike said, “Carolyn’s election as ACTL Regent reflects how highly regarded she is among the most outstanding trial lawyers. She is an exceptional trial lawyer and leader, and I look forward to watching her help guide the ACTL in this new role.”
Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell lawyers have taken more than 1,100 trials and arbitrations to verdict or award and 300 appeals to opinion all across the nation, with exceptional results for our clients.
Established in 1998, WTO today numbers more than 110 trial lawyers and litigators. The firm represents sophisticated clients in high-stakes civil trials, appeals, and related litigation ranging from complex commercial to class actions to catastrophic torts.
