Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Names WTO a 2021 Compass Award Winner

Date: 10.28.21

Denver: The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) has named Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell (WTO) a 2021 Compass Award winner. The award recognizes the law firms and corporations that are among the most active in LCLD programming to build a more inclusive legal profession.

“We provide better service and advocacy when we bring diverse teams to our clients’ trial and litigation matters,” says WTO Co-Managing Partner Mike Williams. “This is one of the many reasons why WTO highly values its membership with LCLD. We continuously strive to lead and learn in this space.”

Comprised of more than 350 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners, LCLD is one of the nation’s leading organizations promoting diversity in the legal industry. The Compass Awards recognize those individuals and organizations that engage in all of the following activities in a single year:

  • Member attendance at the 2020 LCLD Annual Membership Meeting; member attendance at a 2021 Leadership Summit; or submission of a Leader’s Pledge;
  • Participation in the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinder programs; and
  • Participation in an LCLD Pipeline program.

WTO lawyers Michele Choe and CiCi Cheng are the firm’s 2021 LCLD Fellow and Pathfinder, respectively.

In addition to its involvement with LCLD, WTO is a founding member of the Denver Law Firm Coalition for Racial Equity, a sponsor and partner of the pipeline program Law School . . . Yes We Can!, and a founding member of the Colorado Pledge to Diversity.

Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell lawyers have taken more than 1,100 trials and arbitrations to verdict or award and hundreds of appeals to opinion all across the nation, with exceptional results for our clients.

Established in 1998, WTO today numbers approximately 100 trial lawyers and litigators. The firm represents sophisticated clients in high-stakes civil trials, appeals, and related litigation ranging from complex commercial to class actions to catastrophic torts.
