WTO Welcomes Five Associates

Denver: Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell is pleased to welcome five new associates in the fall of 2015. Laura McNabb, Kate Mercer-Lawson, Shawn Neal, Pawan Nelson, and Randy Robinson will focus their practices on complex commercial litigation at the trial and appellate levels.

Laura McNabb served as a law clerk to The Honorable David M. Ebel of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also served as a law clerk and judicial assistant to Chief Justice Nancy E. Rice of the Colorado Supreme Court. Laura earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2012, and she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Denver in 2007.

Prior to joining WTO, Kate Mercer-Lawson spent four years in government service: two years as law clerk to The Honorable Jerome A. Holmes, United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit; and two years as law clerk to The Honorable Sarah Evans Barker, United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Kate earned her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, in 2011 from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She earned a Master of Health Administration from Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, summa cum laude, in 2012 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Religious Studies, summa cum laude, from Indiana University.

Shawn Neal served as a law clerk to The Honorable John R. Webb on the Colorado Court of Appeals. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and earned a Bachelor of Science in Theatre and Communications from Northwestern University. Before she entered the law, Shawn taught first grade for several years.

Pawan Nelson joins WTO from the New York office of Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where his practice consisted of general commercial litigation for clients in the technology and financial industries. Pawan earned his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Harvard University.

Randy Robinson joins WTO from the Denver litigation boutique, Reilly Pozner. After law school, Randy served as a law clerk to The Honorable Monica M. Marquez of the Colorado Supreme Court. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Maryville University. Randy also brings several years of business management experience that inform his litigation practice for sophisticated business clients.

The five join associates Elliott Hood, Kasey Johnson, Michael Mulvania, Tommy Olsen, and Marissa Ronk, who also joined WTO in 2015. The firm grew by one partner, Peter Herzog, and one of counsel, Tom Palazzolo, for a current total of 98 lawyers.
