WTO Leads Top 100 in Colorado Super Lawyers
Denver: Eleven Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell (WTO) attorneys are named to the 2018 Colorado Super Lawyers Top 100 list. The next closest firm in the state has five attorneys listed in the Top 100. In all, 46 WTO lawyers are named to the 2018 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists.
Two WTO lawyers, Chairman Michael O’Donnell and President Hugh Gottschalk, have been named to the 2018 list of the Top 10 lawyers in the state.
O’Donnell was named the #1 lawyer in Colorado for the sixth consecutive year, and he has appeared in the Top 10 for 10 straight years. Gottschalk was named to the Top 10 list for the second time, and he has appeared in the Top 50 five times and the Top 100 for 11 consecutive years.
According to the Colorado Bar Association, there are nearly 30,000 attorneys in the state. Based on this Super Lawyers ranking, WTO attorneys comprise over 10% of the top 0.33% of all attorneys in Colorado.
“These awards are meaningful because they are based on input from our colleagues and clients in the legal industry,” said WTO Managing Partner Carolyn Fairless “For Mike, Hugh, and all of my other WTO colleagues who have been recognized, this honor affirms that they continue to set the level for practitioners in our field.”

Super Lawyers employs a patented, three-part selection process to identify and name top talent in states across the country. Only 5% of all attorneys are selected to Super Lawyers.
Attorneys are nominated by their peers, and the publication conducts independent research across 12 key categories to reach its conclusions. Finally, candidates are reviewed for inclusion by attorneys who received the highest totals in each category.
Since 2004, Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell lawyers have won 142 trial verdicts and complex arbitrations and 80 significant appeals nationwide for our clients. Established in 1998, WTO currently numbers 100 lawyers. The firm represents sophisticated clients in high-stakes civil trials, arbitrations, appeals, and related litigation, including class actions, mass torts, and multidistrict litigation.
